| Set in a small village in Eastern European
Russia in the early 20th century, this musical is about a Jewish father's
response to requests by his three daughters to bend tradition to permit
them to marry the men they love. The plot also involves a pogrom and the
eventual emigration of the family to the U.S.
This musical includes these memorable songs: "If I Were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "Sunrise, Sunset"and "To Life." |
