Gulls at Sunrise: Dublin
A large
Nervous gathering
Of gulls
Ascend,
Descend,
In repeated rhythm,
Above moving table
Of the sea,
Extended wings
Billowing
In restive North wind-
Against wide roof
Of smoldering
Crimson sky
Mood for Sunset: Ireland
After the gradual coming
Of dusk,
Sunset
Moves across dark sky
With increasing brilliance,
Advances slowly,
Extended colors
Of rust,
Pale-yellow-
Blood-crimson
The indefinite mood
Deepens, lingers above moors,
Fades,
Disappears into darkness,
Leaving
Across wide roof
Of sky,
A myriad
Of high flung,
Scattered stars.
