The year's festival season has wound down and tired touring musicians
are running out of steam. The first breath of autumn is creeping around
the fireplace chimney. October is coming, hard on the heels of a dry summer,
one hot enough to bake Auld Europe. In Northern Ireland, the political
jig is still as fast-paced and furious as ever before as everyone continues
to maneuver for position. As these seasons turn, it's almost comforting
to know that some things never change. At least they are talking.
